Job Descripton: Builders Office Support - Our client is a reputable local building business with a strong reputation for service delivery. They predominantly support commercial properties, covering both planned project work as well as reactive maintenance support. Due to retirement, they are looking to recruit an office support person with knowledge of the building/construction industry, to help support the directors and office manager.

Whilst there are tradesmen and contractors to deal with, there is only three office staff, so your role would cover many different facets of office support within this small, family run business. With this in mind, ideally the role requires someone with knowledge of the building trade as there is limited opportunity to train someone beyond the day to day duties.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritise workloads and deal with a variety of differing administrative tasks, excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised from time to time.

Main duties to include:

• First point for incoming calls
• Producing RAM`s for the various projects (risk and method statements)
• Filing relevant documentation per job
• Typing up quotations for potential customers
• Compiling documentation for tender submissions
• Keeping monthly vehicle logs for MOT, Service, repairs accurate and up to date
• Taking deliveries and checking they are correct, dealing with any discrepancies
• Various general office administration for busy builders office

We are looking for:

• Experience working within the building trade/knowledge of terminology
• Admin capabilities (comfortable on word, excel and outlook)
• Driver ideally as may need to take vans for MOTs from time to time
• Excellent telephone manner with the ability to speak with people at all levels
• Organised and methodical
• Happy to work in a small office environment
• Confident manner and can deal with typical banter

In return you can expect:

• Salary: £9-10 per hour (dependant on experience)
• Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible but would need Mondays & Wednesdays covered)
